Your photo is a really beautiful abstract and bravo for seeing it and capturing it on film/pixels. I guess this is wet sand, but it could be solid rock...but probably sand.

You'll probably get knocked about relevance because this image doesn't seem to be about curves, per se. High marks from me.

Thanks to all for the very flattering comments! Yes, this is indeed wet sand, and the curvy thing is some sort of seaweed.
It was captured earlier this year on a beach in Big Sur.
