Mooch - Thanks for the comment and glad you like the colours. I see your point but my thinking here was - the sky was black, no clouds, nothing of interest. The Harbour reflections are so beautiful I wasn't concerned about including the sky. I tend to think that it is balanced anyway with the light and reflection. I could go deeper about the symbolism between complexity of man v nature blah blah blah and hence the balance blah blah blah but then I'd sound like a git. :)

Yes, I think some sky would have provided a more pleasing symetry. I do think of the third's rule when I see this. Were that adhered to the image would be perfect. Right now you've got a 50/50 composition going on and that is tough to pull off.

A bit easy for complex... Nice image though ;)
but tell me, why that 1/2 composition?

I wouldn't want to live there, but it looks like every night would have a festival feeling about it.Very pretty overall, way cool reflections too.

The city is certainly complex. The color reflections in the river seem fake, not sure if they are, but they seem wrong somehow??
The composition seems too high, lower the horizon line a little and better for me.

My feelings about Sydney are sure complex. Love to visit, but would hate to live there.

In terms of composition, it might be a good idea to cut the foremost section of the harbour, just below the horizontal line - more of a panoramic crop. Still leaves the reflections on the water, but it gets rid of the 50/50. Here's one I prepared earlier - http://www.heathcarney.com/images/petesyd.jpg (hope you don't mind)

I like this shot for it's vibrancy but feel that too the buildings are too near the top of the image and that subsequntly there is a lack of sky. The forground is too dominant and leaves the image somewhat unbalanced. Great colours and exposure though.
