Is the background authentic? It looks layered or something, but I can't be sure. Very nice colour.

This is virtually "out of the box", just a little curves and a slight crop. This was taken @8am along the Angeles Crest Highway on the way up to Mt. Wilson above Pasadena, CA. The Southern California air can create some very interesting skys!

Seems too dark in the shadows, maybe some curves/gamma to give it some punch/interest in the foreground. Well composed and exposed though
