Doesn't necessarily say church to me. Also, I'd love to see more color and detail in the sky/clouds. It doesn't need to be dark to be dramatic.

A bit too dark in the sky and too much of the black mass on the bottom part for it to really work. Great idea, though. Is it Notre-Dame de Paris?

Wow! Great silhouette! so dramatic sky, it fits good to the theme.. just a bit sorry that the church is in the middle but I guess there was houses or trees that would have desserved the photo. Great shot, I like it!

I like this for color and tone. The mood it creates is very strong. Composition could be stronger, maybe crop some off the top to focus just a little more on the top of the church.
