Thank you mtmartini - I can say I was pretty broken at the time which is a reason I felt inspired to take the photo in the first place, but I guess being wary of wanting to take a good shot made the emotion be held back somewhat. Thanks for your comment :)

Lovely portrait, high marks everywhere but relevence... I've abstained from rating there, in case there's something I'm missing here.

Hm, ok. On my monitor I could not see the tear at all... Only saw a very high-key portrait. Maybe try to bring that out a bit more to improve the emphasis.

I'm hoping this is a return of Blizzard image. If not, it's a well done imitation of her style. The sharp focus on the eye and lips with blur everywhere else works well in my opinion. I also like the subtle B&W processing. High marks.

I agree bringing out the tear more would help. I didn't notice it at first either. Still a nicely done, emotional image. Since I hold Blizzard's past work in high regard, the comparison is certainly meant as a compliment. Nice work Jem.

This draws me in somehow.

it takes time before i saw the tear on the cheek, maybe it would have been more visible in color ... anyway i like the softness ...

Emotional, for me it's more a sad expression than a broken one, although, her cold look doesn't really make her appear sad! Not easy, and you seem to have put a lot of thoughts into this image, will you share? Maybe you are already, so let me see ;)

Excellent interpretation - love the use of blown highlights.

Nice photo. I still hold that cropping through the middle of a person's face is, in most cases, a gimmick.

This is a beautiful image but just shy of a perfect mark form me. I would have liked to see her more 'broken', the tear is part of it but I am not finding it completely believable (that's me just being picky).
