This looks familiar. I saw a lot of trees like this after Hurricane Ivan. I might have included a little more space above the broken trunk to emphasize what's not there. Not a whole lot mind you, but just enough to say "Hey, what happened to my top?"

it's broken, that's for sure! more sky or a lower angle might have helped give it more impact. Nice, though.

Amy, I'm glad you're continuing to post. I was just looking back through some of your other stuff and I see you've taken a bit of a beating in the comments. As long as you're having fun and getting something out of it, don't worry about some of the negativity.

It would seem that perhaps you're not as well equipped as some of the old pros on here. That doesn't mean that you can't post great pictures though.

If you don't mind me asking, since this tree was damaged in Ivan, whereabouts are you?

I'm located in south alabama above the florida panhandle...the shot was actually taken from my grandparents place which is about 30 miles off I65, they were pretty much in the direct path. I'm actually more east of them

Well, we're practically neighbors then. I'm in Pensacola. You might also see panhandlin' here on Weekly Shot. He's a Pensacola guy too.
