I've had a hard time identifying several things in this theme. This is another example. Is this a spray can of some kind?
I can see it's broken but the shallow depth of field is hurting the image in my opinion.

Yet, despite the shallow DOF, you can still tell that *something* is broken, right?
It's the right front turn signal headlamp on a Kenworth dump-truck.

This is that toy car again, I'm almost certain of it!!

Almost right....I gave it high marks. I really DO NOT SEE THE POINT in identifying everything there is to see in a photo. Why do some of you people out there have to have everything served on a silver platter to you? I'm getting really fed up seeing comments like I don't get it, or what is it, or what's the point in that.
@ Imago - Colours could have maybe been tweaked a little, just to liven it up without ruining it, but it's a nice angle on the theme.

@ psychodudu - Because you can't rate it if you can't tell what it is.
Honestly I would have never guessed this was a turn signal lens. Had I been able to ascertain that, I would have been more favorable in my ratings. It would have more impact and relevance for me. When I could only tell some nebulous thing had a hole in it, I didn't have any kind of emotional or logical connection to go on in my ratings. Knowing what it is, certainly helps in that regard, and I know I would have rated higher if I'd been able to tell at the time.

this is a broken something or other, so relevant! I wish I could tell what it was, or see more of it.
Ana said 572 days ago:
I gave this very high relevance and technique scores. I can tell that something is broken..but not knowing what it is lowers it's impact, for me. That doesn't take anything from the other four categories...at least not for me. knowing what I'm looking at helps ME to feel it's impact. We're all different in how we look at things, here. Diversity is wonderful, isn't it?

@ psychodudu - I thought I had the colors pretty well bumped... My monitor is probably due for a calibration (or maybe there are some color-muting gremlins in the WS server?)
@ kadenajack & Ana - Well, now that you know what it is, go back and re-rate it higher! ;^)
Ana said 572 days ago:
I actually rated it high on all but impact, as I couldn't tell was seeing, and there for had little impact. But I like it all the same.
kadenajack said 571 days ago:
Sometimes I wish we could do that, but then again part of the challenge for us as contributors is to make our images work so that people don't need the rest of the story. It's a thin line to walk.

Of course, you know I was joking.

whatever this is, it is a strong pic with great colours!

I can certainly tell it's broken, but I can't make out what it is. I'm wondering why the DOF was not wider here, so as to bring the rest of this object in focus.
