Pretty nice. The angles work really well here.

This is dramatic and enjoyable. Looks like a fun place to stand when the express runs through. Was this shot at high altitude? High marks.

Awesome!

do we have to decide if rail or bridge is more important? or sky

owen-b said 500 days ago:

Well that's the beauty of photography, isn't it? You can decide whatever you like is more important! :)

Excellent.

this is taken from a bridge, yes? I really like how it looks. nice shot.

King said 500 days ago:

owen-b...so was this taken at high altitude? Do you think I ask questions just for the fun of it? Inquiring minds need to know! :>)

I'm asking because the contrast in the sky and clouds is pretty typical of shooting at higher altitudes with film...I don't know about digital.

Hi King - nope, wasn't taken at high altitude. It's just a rail bridge over the tracks between Barnes and Putney railway stations in London. The contrast is just a factor of the B&W conversion process I used, and the clouds are maybe being skewed into something you recognise by the 10-20mm lens I used?

Cheers, folks! :)

owen-b,
You mean the Canon 10-22, made famous by Vernon Trent? Cool. I don't own a digital camera yet, but on my shopping list is the Canon XTi (otherwise known as the 400D) and your lens...well, the same model, anyway.

King - nope, I mean the Sigma 10-20mm, made famous by me ;)

(PS it's on my Nikon D70)

King said 500 days ago:

Not a shabby combination, in any case. :>)
