Lovely sense of perspective - I like how it pulls me into the focal point - it feels a bit flat in tems of contrast though, especially with so many elements to discern.

You are spot on owen-b about all the elements going on here. Brooklyn Bridge is busy subject, so many different materials, wires, cables, people etc. This is by far not the greatest shot of this subject doing the rounds especially when compared to these gems:

I guess this is the Brooklyn Bridge again by the same photographer whose image was featured (sorry I don't remember who it was--could look it up, but choose not to). Where the other photo had the well-known, dramatic perspective, this does not, and the lack of depth of field is a big handicap, IMHO. The rotation of the image doesn't help, at least not enough to overcome the lack of sharpness in the foreground.
