Very funny. This *could* be a Tracy Martin, but I'm terrible at guessing and I don't think it is.
My hunch is that we will see a lot of this type of thing (i.e., composite photos) before the theme is ended.
This appears to have been scanned from a print. Doesn't matter. I'm just curious because I'm still learning about digital photography.
All in all, this has a deliberate strangeness to it that I somehow find appealing.

@King: just appears to have been scanned... ;-)
No scanning involved (but a texture and some vignette effect)

Not my cup of tea, but nicely done. I like the noisy, analogue feel to what is obviously a digitally manipulated image.

Nice to see you thought of the apple's shadow but.. the poles in front don't have a shadow so where does it come from? The light on the apple (the highlight) also suggests that the poles should be lighted from in front.. Nevertheless, nice idea.. and one huge apple!

@Jondor...if you are not already a working photographer, are you planning on becoming one? Those are good points that I chose not to mention, myself, because I thought subjektiv (or whoever created the shot) was going for overall effect and was ignoring the obvious shortcomings you pointed out.

I'm really not sure about this.

I get what King says (though it pains me to say). It looks scanned due to the shadows not correlating. In fact, it looks like a copy of an image with another literally cut out and pasted over the top. I like the idea, I’m not sure about the execution.

Big apple, it reminds me of something...
bioLarzen said 504 days ago:
It doesn't really work for me, sorry :(
Howerver great - and seamless - the post-processing is, it can't make me forget that it's a fake.
Also, that there is a shadow behind the apple but not behind the poles are a bit disturbing.

Forgot to mention, that, on the other side, it's great that you chose this faint grey for the shadow - most would have chosen a much deeper hue - and how wrong they would be...
King said 504 days ago:
...except that the shadow would be deeper (darker) closer to the apple.

I think King that you have found yourself a drum in this image, and you're banging it hard! If you follow the expression...
Jondor said 504 days ago:
@king
Not a working photographer besides occasional small jobs to pay for fun items as lenses and the like.
Guess I Just spend to much time in the photoshop contests on worth1000.com ..

Mooch...I don't get your meaning. I'm just participating in the conversation. I find this image and the conversation around it to be interesting...that's all.

The big apple! That shot was taken in New York right? =)

*jumping into diskussion*
I think adding shadows and trying to make this apple integrate into the image, would be a step back!
This has that artistic thing to it, I can hear the projector cranking along in the back, with music played from an old record player!
Then this apple totally out of context! just there, everybody in the movie doesn't really notice it,.... but it's there!
phu... after this text I should have actually given it higher marks...
klimin_a_s said 504 days ago:
I think, Steve Jobs can buy this shot for their advertisement :)
Jondor said 504 days ago:
@ChriZ
The discussion was about the shadow which was added to the apple. If perfect integration is one's goal it has to be done consequent. As the apple has an added shadow one would expect, due to the position behind the apple, the light source to be opposite to it resulting in a different lighting of the fence an adding shadows. Actually, the show would work as a reflector and the bottom part of the apple would be lighted different too.
Anyhow, my remark wasn't about adding shadows or not, but about doing it consequent. If the goal is realism that is..
