King said 502 days ago:

It's a smashing big tree, although I wouldn't call it huge. Nice pastoral scene here.

King said 502 days ago:

fyi...mainly gave you high marks here.

kadenajack said 501 days ago:

I'd actually like to see more of this big tree. I think it would feel bigger then.

mooch said 501 days ago:

My take:

King: the sheep puts it in perspective.

kadenajack: um, I like the fsct you cannot see all the tree, I feel that the fact it is cropped implies it is too big for the camera.

Overall, I agree, I've said this before and I'll say it again, if your image doesn't headbutt the observer with the theme it doesn't quite make it. Were this a redwood...

King said 501 days ago:

@mooch...on your last comment, about headbutting the theme, we are in total agreement. :>)

:-D

I just love this sort of scenery. It's my entry and I'll cry if I want to!

King said 501 days ago:

I love it too. I took a week-long narrowboat cruise along the (so-called) Llangollen Canal a few years ago. It was lambing season and we got to see many new borns and lots of beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, it was too early in the spring to see sights quite a lush as the one pictured above, but it was very beauful anyway.

You live in a beautiful place.

kadenajack said 501 days ago:

mooch, if it says big to you then great. I was just stating why I rated it the way I did.

mooch said 500 days ago:

No worries kadenjack, it was just my take is all. I really love the lush scenery of this shot and keep meaning to return just to capture the passing seasons.

Yes King Oxfordshire is magnificent. This was shot on what is considered old pasture land, usually associated with a large country house.

My parents live in South Wales, I find it a little too barren for my taste. There are ten beaches within a ten mile radius though...
