This is "Meteor Crater" just outside Winslow, Arizona, U.S.A.

I like this.

There is a real sense of its size, but in my opinion you did't need the lady on the left. I would have liked to see more crater.

Hi, Nynke.
Maybe you're right, but there she is (this is an old photo).
As for myself, I like the sense of perspective from having the lady in the shot, an extreme sense of foreground (the lady), middle ground (the folks on the platform) and background.

...oh, and thanks for your comment, Nynke.

excellent

Hi King...I can see why you did it, but the little people far down already give a sense of scale and I keep wanting to see more of that vast sweep of rim. As always, an excellent photo - here particularly the colours.

Nynke...I wish I had an alternative image and, from the ratings, it appears that others agree with you.
Thanks again.

rosedaddy, Ana...thanks!
Ana said 633 days ago:
i gave it a good rate, and I sort of went back and forth with liking, then not liking the person at the top. I like.
King said 633 days ago:
Thanks, Ana. This image isn't valued by the raters nearly so much as my dog gimmick (#5). With 13 ratings:
* Relevance: 3.64
* Impact: 3.21
* Composition: 2.85
* Technique: 3.23
* Quality: 3.21
* Overall: 3.228
I'll try one more time.

...plus the lady was hiding pursang, who was photographing ballerinas on the edge of the crater, just to the left.

While I'd have to agree with the majority here, that I'd like to see the rest of the rim of the crater, I'm glad you've taken care to edit pursang and his ballerinas out. That would have REALLY ruined this shot.
As it is, it's quite dramatic, and the tiny people inside the crater definitely do a fine job of demonstrating scale.

Is it a meteorite impact or a dead volcano ?
