My reasoning for the "Big" factor here is the people standing on the bridge as compared to the size of the falls. They look so tiny compared to the HUGE falls.

The water looks deliciously luscious. BIG comes across to a degree but to me it could be stronger. Just one person's opinion :-)

You look at this as a thumb and you say, "yeah yeah yeah a river on a long exposure... big deal".
Then you open the image and see a not insignificant (in size) bridge and pin-pricks for people. THEN you think "bloody hell, that is big!".
And all becomes well with the world and the rating subsequently reflects this.
Also, it is a long exposure, yet the people still seem sharp, so, super weet...

that's really beautiful.... not sure the word 'big' comes to mind, but it sure makes me say 'wow!'

Without those persons standing there this would be not really be relevant!
It doesn't scream BIG to me, but of corse it's a very nice photograph, and very well executed!

The addition of the people really gives this good impact and measure of scale. Lovely picture.

Incredible texture to the water.

It just needed one more click and it was sent to the front page.

I see two bridges.
That water looks cold...deep, too. :>)

King, you're cracking me up. I wonder if anyone else gets that old politically incorrect joke.
King said 540 days ago:
@kadenajack,
I was thinking of the movie, "Sling Blade" when I made the comment. In the movie, Carl stands on a bridge somewhat like the one seen here and thinks about that joke---but it's not the right kind of bridge
I'm glad you caught the reference and had a laugh.
Okay, here's the joke (sort of):
Two very competitive guys are out camping, drinking beer and trying to outdo each other in everything. After dark, they decide to go pee off the nearby low water bridge.
First guy unzips, hauls it out and says, "Whoa, that water's cold!"
Second guy unzips, hauls it out and says, "Yes, and it's *deep*, too!"

lol =)

Which of course could lead to the joke about the two guys swimming in the pool at the beginning of the summer.
First guy says, "The water is getting warmer."
Second guy with an impish grin says, "Yeah, yellower too."

Uhm Hmm. Sling Blade is one of my all-time favorite movies. "Got any of them French fired pertaters". ;)
King said 540 days ago:
Tom...I think Karl likes mustard with his French fried pertaters--I remember that he also likes mustard on his biscuits.
Karl (to potential girlfriend who brought him flowers and the small engine repair shop where he works): "I always thought flowers was pretty."
Doyle: What in the hell are you doing with that lawn mower blade?
Karl: I aim to kill you with it. Mmm.
Doyle: "Then you'd better call an ambulance."
Karl: There were these two fellars standin' on a bridge, a-goin' to the bathroom. One fellar said, "The water's cold" and the other fellar said, "The water's deep". I believe one fella come from Arkansas. Get it?

This is a gorgeous photo. I only give it average relevance since the falls don't feel really BIG to me. They're more like "just right." I love the picture though. The smooth lines of the water and the saturated greens are very pleasing. The way the water runs off into the bottom right corner really works for me too. Thanks for posting this one.
