Exceptional and lovely. Where is this--looks either new or in very good condition, i.e., not old.
I have mixed feelings about the vapor trail.
High marks.

this is the pantheon in Paris last autumn.
the vapor trail is just an additional challenge:
the plane was moving fast, so the architectural photography gets some action-timing feeling as an extra (in addition to the pressure of the rest of the family already waiting...)

I love perspective shots. Especially when you know what your looking at has to be massive.

Those columns look massive. Your angle is great here. High marks for everything but image quality because of the distracting vapor trail. Is there no where on earth where you can go and not see those things?
On the other hand, imagine for a second that you're an ancient Greek and you look up to that. Wonder what kind of philosophizing that would inspire from Socrates?

Great perspective, but it's not saying BIG to me in a way which impacts.
jbloch said 577 days ago:
I get and feel the "big" perspective from this shot. The use of black and white in this case adds shot.
CraigMartin said 577 days ago:
just my 2 cents' worth, but I think this might have been stronger with a vertical composition, taking out the third set of columns on the right...
CraigMartin said 577 days ago:
othe than that, it is a beautiful shot.

love the composition of this shot.... it's beautiful.

Hey, congrats! I hate to see these good shots languishing on Thursday mornings, uncertain as whether they will even get the necessary 13 ratings.

There is something very imposing about this image. A very strong submission.

a BIG thanks for all comments ....
and yes the pantheon is imposing, i took this pic wh en we left the building and i was obviously under the spell of the names of the people buried there ...Paul Langevin, Marie and Pierre Curie, Jean Perrin, Nicolas de Condorcet...restricting myself to the scientist.

Sorry i missed this shot, but i'm glad it got featured! Sure it deserves it! Great great shot, the b&w, and the feeling of greatness on those columns... and that plane...
