Woooowww! Genious done!! Only harm that the boy are not so sharp. I think this is a snap shot with a compact cam? Makes a big big impact.

Nice tones and well composed. I questioned the relevance, because for me the main subject is the child, who looks small in that large empty space - but then it is a big space, so I gave a 4 in the end. Beautiful picture anyway.

mooch said 488 days ago:

It would not look big were the child not in this. He gives it context. This was shot with an DSLR, I kind of like the motion blur, it is as though he is rushing towards the light (which he was).

Thanks Ana!

ChriZ said 488 days ago:

Ah love it! A big world! I think the slight motion blur totally adds to the image!
High marks!

25.

A brilliant idea that here it's not the main element - the child - is big, but the surroundings.
Also, the backlighting works very well for me.

This is wonderful! Great light.

Well done, mooch. Congratulations!

Thanks everyone. This shot went straight in at 3.96 after the minimum number of votes. I don't know how weeklyshot works but it then took a further 7 odd hours before it got onto the front page. Still, most pleased, this is a personal favourite.

Blinding shot.

Great one. Congrats mooch!

By the way, I browsed over to your profile here on WS and noticed that the URL for your website is http://www.weeklyshot.org/user/mooch/http//:www.moochuk.com which, when clicked, takes you to the WS homepage. That might something you can remedy yourself but if not then an e-mail to Brandon will probably straighten it up in no time.

Well...it's getting stranger by the second...unless you have a redirect on your site, when trying to get to http//:www.moochuk.com I'm redirected to http://www.w3.org/Protocols/

Intentional?

mooch said 486 days ago:

Cheers for the heads up George it has been sorted...

Wow Mooch. What can I say, this is awesome!! It just goes to show that an image ddoes not need to be perfectly in focus w/ crystal celar image quality to be effective. This is a VERY effective shot. The division of 50/50 between the upper and lower portions of the frame being darke/lit is awesome, and the lighting is spectacular. This would be been a good one for "Dramatic Light" also.

Thank you gorin. As an aside this is also a rather famous landmark. I captured this in what was once the turbine room of the Battersea Power Station, now also better known as Tate Modern.
