very well done photo, which makes me think "tall" and not 'big.' high marks, all the same. because technically, it IS big....

Whatever it isl, it looks big. Great colours and I like the hard mechanical lines against the clouds. Compositionally it’s a little too central.

It's a television transmitter tower. It's about 1300 feet tall. I had to lie on my back to even be able to shoot the darn thing. For scale purposes, the three catwalks you can see at the top are the same size as the one you see in the bottom of the photo.

It's big, but doesn't really jump out at me.

Ana said 432 days ago:

well now you have to go and change your name....
(but wasn't this free??)

King said 432 days ago:

In my opinion, there is absolutely *nothing* wrong with the composition, central or otherwise.

Congratulations!

This is great. Congratulations on the feature.

Thanks everyone for the ratings and comments. This didn't score nearly as well when I posted it in Look Up. Here's a side by side breakdown:

BIG Look Up
Relevance 4.00 3.20
Impact 3.38 2.73
Composition 3.63 2.93
Technique 3.75 3.21
Quality 3.75 3.21
Overall 3.702 3.056

I find these numbers interesting given the fact that this is the exact same image.

I see the spacing doesn't hold when you post a comment. I hope you can figure those numbers out.

Welcome to the Wacky World of WeeklyShot Ratings!

That is really quite amusing. How do things like composition and technique change with the theme? Yet they are markedly different here. Just goes to show some of the arbitrariness in terms of who happens to be in the 13 people that first come across your shot.
