If not for the birds, this would be 'alone.' It's still quite good, and works well for the theme.

It's pretty dark around this girl's head, but it sure looks like she is talking on a cell phone. and that means that she is in the middle of a connection with some other person...so not "alone" IMHO. Of course, she could also be stuck in the vast wasteland of a corporate voicemail system and abandoned on a perpetual hold, in which case this would be relevant, and in a very cool way ;) But there's just no way to tell from simply looking at an image.

Thanks Gorin, I assure you though, she is not on a phone, lucky for her she's young enough that she doesn't even own a cell phone ;)

Technically, isn't it lucky for YOU that she doesn;t have a cell phone yet? I mean, you would be the one paying the bill right? It really does look like she's on a phone though, like there is some dark object up next to her ear, but since you were there, I am obviously wrong about this. Look hard though, I swear I am not just imagining it ;)

I've come back to look at this picture a few times now before rating and commenting. I give it 5's for Relevance, Impact and Technique. However, the Composition bothers me a little. The sun almost directly behind her and perfectly centered just bugs me. I wish it was off to one side or the other and she was on the other side. The rich purple colors and sharp water ripples are very nice though. Nice job.

Reviewing all of the submissions on this Theme, you are to be congratulated for being the first to post a photo of a solitary image on the edge of the sea/lake/pond/river/waterway/canal/pool/puddle, LOL.
A good work, too. Very peaceful and alone, except for the birds. The color is strange, to my eye. Is that an artifact of processing?
