Political commentary aside, How alone is it? If there were empty flagpoles adjacent it might convey the message better.
Great colors and lighting, did you bump up the blues?

@Dave and Browe, I submitted it specifically as politcal commentary. To me, in the context of this theme, it is symbolic of America's isolation in the world (how you characterize that - abandoned and under attack, or as a result of its own unilateral hegemonistic policy - is dependent on one's viewpoint).

@ Browe, I didn't use anything other than a little levels and curves, no change to hue or saturation here.

I can see how sme ight feel the US is alone out there in certain situations, but that is a stretch. Nor do I see the flag as abandoned. Good composition though.

well, from the whopping 1.79 for relevance, I guess most people didn't either ;-). So I guess I'll stay away from attempts at political commentary.
