With all due respect...how does one over-process clouds?

This was originally color, converted to black and white and then darkened to make the vulture completely black.
FYI - in color the sky was amazing - you know the kind of clouds that look like cotton balls? Extremely 3 dimensional and varied in color.

Just wanted to reply to the over-processed statement because i am not a big fan of heavy-handed photoshop.

my apologies if I got it wrong - they just don't look quite real, and I guess in the age of photoshop, we too quickly assume that it is editing and not nature...

This doesn't grab me, I don't know if the clouds are too puffy or not contrasty enough but its the clouds that influence my take on this

hey, that is cool - i can wrap my brain around that and share your attitude towards a lot of photos.
i am probably guilty of judging photos higher based on personal taste. Usually only in a positive way though. If a photo does not strike my fancy - I stick to the 5 categories in rating. If something offends me - I will not rate or comment - feeling it would be unfair to the photographer.

i look forward to seeing some of you work.

i think more definition in the clouds is needed. the treatment of this photo could use a little more time. but i think it has unreal potential!

Reality, I'd never post something derogatory about someones work but I'd much rather hear both sides of peoples impressions both positive and negative. Whats interesting to me is the range of opinion and how this site forces you to make up your mind before you are influenced by other critiques. I've already learned a lot from all of you here on the site and I look forward to more critiques.
