I love almost monochromatic images and composition that falls into corners. So the image works for me, plus the bird must feel alone surrounded by the vast ocean and beach.

@Dave1973...it's a stretch to attribute such feelings (i.e., being alone) to birds, although I'm pretty sure he's full of himself, being the star of eggplant's photo.
