I'm not quite getting the relevance here. Is our little alien friend all alone on earth? Overall it's not a bad shot, there's a bit of interest in the background and the choice of black and white is the right choice I think.

It's just not immediately relevant to the theme for me unfortunately.

I was thinking that nothing is more alone than an alien on earth. I know it's a bit oblique and I'm expecting a 2.3 overall... but I do generally prefer subtle interpetations to immediate stock-photo impact with nothing behind it to retain my interest.

Although this one i posted just for fun. :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is attempting to look at this theme with humor (there are a few, in fact). I guess this is an "ET Phone Home" illustration. Otherwise, I don't get the relevance, but it is a heck of a fun photograph.
