@George - fair comment I think. But to explain, it is a zen rock garden, the objective of which is to create an autere beauty that helps one focus inwardly on the self. In that sense, it is in fact designed to create the sense of aloneness - but I confess it is hard to capture all that photographically.

A perfect place to be alone. I don't know that the extra forground does a lot for the shot, but I'm sure you tried cropping it out and decided this is better.

CraigMartin, I see what you mean. Thanks for the clarification. I wonder, as Kind suggests, whether tightening in on the garden might convey that sense with more emphasis.

I'd love to see this in person. Looks like an interesting place. However, I don't get a strong sense of relevance to the theme; also I'm not sure what the principal subject is...just the wide open space of the garden? I get more the feeling of emptiness than alone.
