A happy child walking along a beach doesn;t really make me think "alone". I like the shot though, especially the way he appears to be about to walk out of the frame.

Something makes me think he isn't alone...Maybe the fact that he seems to be speaking to someone.

that piece of seaweed is pulling my eye. the child is alone in the photo, but it doesn't give me a sense of being alone. Maybe because his face is showing and it has more personality?

It seems almost as if he's at the end of a line of lost boys who were cropped off the shot on the right. Its a strange framing and leads my eye off the image. The strength here seems to be in the beautifully captured ocean, but the boys face is disguised by shadows.
