Great find. Love the b&w. Those glass bricks add interest too. I'm glad you left them in on both sides of the frame.

I think a slightly tighter crop would have had more impact. But relevant for sure.

Ana, I would have bet money that this was yours (as well as the hole in the ice). You have develped a real style, such that it has become really easy to recognize your shots - the mark of an artist!

Very cool, I like it. The processing give it a cold feel, very good relevance to start, enhanced by you choices in conversion.

Wonderful commentary on communication. With so many people who have cell phones, the pay telephone is disappearing, and to me that is quite sad. While I sometimes have a cell phone... sometimes I do not and believe the pay phone is still a vital instrument to have available. Photographically, this works well in B&W, although I would like a bit more contrast in the phone kiosk to make it stand out more. I think the untended plantings and weeds add significantly to the intended message of this photograph. Very nice.

@ArneG...this is an old, shut down motel. No idea how long it's been closed.
@flipthom...thank you. I liked how the one set of windows curved around the side.
@Craig. Thank you for both your comments. I took this shot with a bit more on both sides, and the left side had a gas station and traffic lights. The right side had more of the same. I tried different crops, but didn't want the phone centered. If you have specific ideas on framing this, I'd love for you to share.
@ Beamer...was waiting to hear from you about my tonal rage. :)
@Lange. so true. It's rare to see a working pay phone anymore, and I'm always so curious when I see someone talking on one. You're right about the contrast. That's another thing I worked a long time with... The phonebox was a white/gray. I wasn't sure how 'white' to go with the contrast.
Thank you all for taking the time to write such great comments. If I don't get the full 13 ratings, it'll be ok...cause you all left some really great ideas!

Wow, thats razor sharp. Nice range of tones and textures. I think I would have cropped to the edge of the first glass brick, just to offcenter the missing phone a little more

Nice find - based on the overgrowth and the boards on the windows it looks like an interesting place.
