The works well. But I think I would have cropped to the top of the door, or lower to draw more attention to the bottom of the frame. Thats the part that works for the theme, after all

love this...only wish the focus were more on the missing steps, and not the ladder and the door.

I'm pretty sure there there's some sort of safety violation here...and I'm not sure a rickety old ladder with beautiful red tones is going to remedy that.

High marks for humour! The lighting is a bit dreary, so I wonder if black and white might not have worked better?

Very good subject, very well exposed. I would have cropped out the whole dark bottom area. It takes on a sorta abstract feel if you scroll that area out of view.
