one face, no crowd!

I almost like this very much but there's something odd about the DOF

I like this one a lot.

Crowd??? I'm sure the city is crowded, but no this image... The face is pretty cool. I like that I missed it when I first looked...

I actually like the face being a bit out of focus...mostly because I'm sure everyone else hates it. However, I don't think that one person constitutes a "crowd."

Wow, I really like this a lot. It's not exactly a crowd, but I'll take a metaphorical approach to any encounter in a city to constitute "crowd"... meaning I'm giving it high marks for Relevance anyway.

... and if I may go a step further: What really captures me is that the face reminds me of my ex-girlfriend. We split up 11 years ago. She was the love of my life, except it turned out she wasn't, and the relationship just sort of sputtered out after six years. We swore to stay friends, but moving to different cities and life in general meant that we lost touch. At dinner a few nights ago two of my friends and I spoke about how no matter what you might feel about an ex, you're always interested in hearing about them, wondering where they might be, just sort of keeping them in mind. It's so often that I think I see her somewhere, and then I think of her.
Well, this picture made me think it was her. But it's just a face in the crowd, as it turns out.

Great image..-don't really know what to think about, it's a bit surrealist - I like it !

Flatline..great story, and you are so right. You always wonder..... no matter what.

I like where you were going with this and appreciate the motion blur of the subject matter. The foreground subject's very dark outline detracts from the image. Had there been more definition in that aspect, I would enjoy the image more.

Mr. Flatline
Thanks for the great and thoughtful comment. It's comments like this that are so much more valuable than any score could be. Much of my photography is to please myself and I get a crooked little smile in the corner of my mouth when someone finds something there themselves.
To all the rest of you - Thanks for your feedback as well - I do appreciate it.
What you make out if it is exactly what you want it to be.

I see no crowd and it was a bit hard to find the face.

Yup, this is what I love about photography. It's why I do "street" photography. Like most of us here I'm pretty visual, and it is my great frustration that it is so hard to capture photographically what I see as I move through the day. That is my personal challenge, though I haven't gotten anywhere near it yet.

Does two make a crowd now? I always thought it was 3.
