i like the deep hue and graphic quality of this composition.

I really like this one and in particular how there still seems to be a difference in colour - the left-hand top seems darker.

It's weird, on first glance, I don't find this image very interesting. However, I keep looking back at it, so somehow it is drawing me in. Works great for the theme.

Yes, this works.

Thanks for the comments.
First of all, it is great o be geting comments in addition to ratings...something that hasn;t happened when I have participated lately.
Second, I am excited that people are able to appreciate this as a purely graphic composition. That is exactly what I intended for it to be..just a nice combination of a fantastic blue color and a cluster of shaded rectangles.
@groen65 - You have a sharp eye. Yes it actually does have a gradual difference in brightness, which is the result of the natural lighting conditions on the afternoon when I captured this. It is an attic vent on the front of a building in downtown Santa Barbara.

A simple composition... maybe too simple?
King said 602 days ago:
This is just the type of photograph that Piet Mondrian would have taken. The color, composition, shapes and tones can't really be argued with. However, one can argue think the entire canvas is the subject. What comprises negative space is subjective and arbitrary in this case. The easy answer, "everything but the grill" is simplistic and inadequate, IMHO.

...did I forget to say that I like this image very much and assigned higher-than-average scores? Perhaps I thought that the Mondrian allusion was an adequate compliment.
gorin-images said 602 days ago:
@King
The Mondrian comparison is a MAJOR compliment as far as I am concerned ;)
Thanks!

I like this.
philippe said 601 days ago:
But i don't like Mondrian. For me (sorry) this is completely different and much better.
philippe said 601 days ago:
... maybe you could relate it to Yves Klein, although it's only blue...

Thoughtful and nice use of colour

Thanks again!!! Better than Mondrian huh? :)

A graphic image. Not sure this has impact standing alone but I am sure in combination with other colorful isolations this would work very well. Relevance is definately there.
