@SeekingFocus - I cropped the pine needles and didn't care for the way the upper limb was jammed against the right side of the resulting image.

I like the pine needles on the right. They help frame the weathered stump and provide contrast in texture and provide an almost tender life/death balance, as if the tree on the right were bending down to the dead tree in compassion. Going to far? Maybe, but also searching for metaphor to convey what I mean.
