That's a strange one. Don't know why, but it has a definite impact on me, i like it a lot. Really couldn't tell why, but I do. It's probably the atmosphere, the mood and the ambient and moody blue-lilac lights...

Surely she can't look so sad because the tv has just died? the spookiness of the glow and the colours adds to the image.

I'm taking a stab that the relevance has to do with that horror film where the characters shouldn't watch a videotape. Having not seen the film, I don't entirely grasp it. I do like the lighting on her face coming off of the monitor and the red glow behind her though.

This goes over my head, relevance-wise, but how hard is that? It's nice to see a living human in a shot in this theme. I like this portrait.

Thank you everyone for your warm comments. As for the relevance, it is pretty clear to me. It may have even more than one interpretations, the most obvious one being "the end of TV programming". Problem is, here is North America you have TV shows 27/7, whereas where I come from, Romania, TV programming used to end around midnight. So, yeah, I see why you may not get that. Could also be the end of a videotape, the end of the day, or if you want to stretch it and thing about the movie "The Ring", the end of your life.
