It's missing 'something'. I would have perhaps gone for an angled, rather than flat on approach, to emphasise the embossed letters. Sure is rusty though!

I like this a lot, but it looks so much like a straightforward documentary image...did you shoot any other angles? Above aveage marks, nevertheless.

Because it has the word metal in it and the rust is evident this works well for this theme but I agree with several others above that it comes across a bit straight foward and misses something that would give it that "wow" or "pop" factor and I don't know what I could suggest to improve it for that. Then again maybe, just maybe, it's charm is that it doesn't have it or need it for this theme.
