This is an intriguing photo. I like the postprocessing. Alfred Hitchcock would have loved this image (The Birds).

@ Jeff- No postprocessing other then USM and typical curves for contrast. Pretty much as close to straight out of the camera as it gets with digital.

EssPea- The effect is a combination of both the background birds flying more side to side in the frame blurring more while the foreground birds were flying right at the lens. Still the slow shutter speed and visual compression from the telephoto accounts for most of what you see.
King- Thanks. That's a problem I don't mind having.

Oh my, there are SO MANY fabulous shots this challenge but this is my favorite so far!
