wow. Are they birds or bats? Since I can not tell and that would make the difference for "ugly Beautiful" for me, I think the relevance is lower. It is a really cool image though.

Bloody hell, I thought this was way off the mark as it is just plain beautiful but am I right in concluding that the subjects are bats? If so, bravo. A truly wonderful capture. Great sense of movement.

How in the world did you manage to stand still amongst all those bats long enough to get the picture? I would have been running for cover!

Thanks guys, yes the photo is of Bats. :) Normally bats are considered to be ugly, but I thought here they were looking pretty beautiful. Glad you guys liked. The shot was taken in Austin Texas at the bat bridge. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/TXAUSbat.html
