I love the white plume of smoke in between the darker plumes of smoke and potentially this could have been excellent.

However I feel it ultimately fails due to the bottom area of the image being far too dark, leaving me straining to make out the detail in the buildings.

Very good shot, right on the theme. The different colors of the smoke are doing a great effect, but what bothers me is that it looks a bit underexposed, especially on the lower right part, but maybe it's just that my monitor is not bright enough...

Guisboro : technically I understand your comment. But it is a choice here, to completely leave this part in the black.
Nattfoldd :it is nice to think that it is your monitor but it's a choice. your monitor is ok ;))
it is a feeling of filth, of oppression, which I wanted to give. The very black give sensation of that… I think

Slight addendum here, I'm now looking at the image from home on a different monitor and it's a LOT better. My criticism of the image (ie the dark area at the bottom), I take back. Although it's still a dark area, it's more than acceptable.

So now I really like the image. In future I'll view the images at home rather than at work!
