Whoa...did anyone say orange!?! High mark on relevance. Is this a gem or stone? I like the white crystal web in the central detail. The 3 blurred corners are drawing my eye away from the center. I like your take on the theme, but it feels like this needs something more. Perhaps a closer view?

Sorry to leave you both hanging here!

This item is a 'slice' of stone about 5mm in thickness propped up against a window and backlit by strong afternoon sun - shot with close-up filters attached to a 50mm f/1.8 prime lens. I have yet to attempt a re-shoot of this using a proper dedicated macro lens, but it's definitely in the plans - I've also long craved a closer, more detailed view of that central portion!
