Yes, this was intended as an ironic approach to the theme, showing the forced joy in marketing. Therefore I personally like to think of the bars as underlining the fact that it's not real, "on the other side".

Interesting choice for the subject. I guess this is considered joy, although since it's for an advertisement, it's probably forced. Compositionally, my eyes go straight to the two vertical bars down the "thirds" lines...a bit distracting.
