Hey, thank you all for the great comments. I went out with these shoes yesterday..... and one homeless man was very curious about me. He was fishing for his lunch (or breakfast...) and called up to me.."what are you doing?" and I replied, "Taking pictures of shoes!" and he said, "REALLY?! is that art?"
And I answered that it was definitely art.
Then he he said, "this place is sad, isn't it?"

I agreed with him. The shoes got their picture taking inside bins of garbage...99% liquor bottles, 1% food wrappers.

Sad, indeed.

I wish there could have been some way to 'save' the place, and I'd not be "Ana" if I didn't express some disappointment that so many of you waited until now to participate again, give accolades to the site, and to express your sadness at its ending.

I know I did a lot of complaining, but I also gave out a lot of praise and I stuck in there for the long haul....as did so many others.

To all of you that hung in there with me, I thank you. To all of you that became a true friend, I'll see you on the other side.
