Living in Texas I can not relate to this kind of snow. I would be leaving too. The fog and the trees make this shot. The mood is great and the figure walking off into the cold night is ghostly. Well done.

Beamer said 195 days ago:

I must sound like a broken sobbing record, but another one where the road ahead is clearly the point, at least to me.

flipthom said 195 days ago:

I love the fog and how it sort of obscures the trees. The fact that the person is walking away makes it very relevant...and very sad.

mtmartini said 195 days ago:

The sentiment and feel of farewell are here but the image an overall muddy feel to it that spoils the effect. I am thinking that this is my sisters shot and if so I hope she can forgive me. :-)

mtmartini said 195 days ago:

Kyla, I would submit the tree image instead, it has a sad, quiet feel to it and the mood of the muted tones really works in that one where as here it really doesn't.

just for that I am going to go trash your picture now. heh heh. no hard feelings- can't say i was impressed with it once I saw it in large format- i should have spent more time working on it- oh well screaming baby comes first.

It's the rocks that count. :-)

This has an excellent, almost haunting quality to it.

This was the last we saw of Grandma before she got run over by that reindeer.

Jeff said 195 days ago:

A little dark for my taste, but perhaps perfect for the theme...farewell can be so dark....

Great misty feeling.

Hi, Kyla. This got posted and featured while I was asleep. This beautiful image makes me sad.

kyla said 195 days ago:

This is making me all sad and melancholy- all these old names- kadenjack you will always be fondly remembered for your buddha belly picture, King it is nice you made it to the farewell I had just been asking about you.
To Brandon I just want to wish you all the best, I hear a baby is on the way- they are the joy of life. Thank you for making a community where so many different people came together. I have learned and laughed and in the end come out a better photographer.
I bid adieu wishing everyone great shots and better moments. Time to go feed the monster that kept me up all night...I mean my joy of life.

Congrats on the feature Ky!

This is beautiful and subtly done indeed. The washed out blacks work quite well for me along with the hazy feeling throughout. Certainly hits the theme spot on.
