Wonderfully dramatic shot. It is very very sharp around the eyes, perhaps a tad too sharp? Maybe I'm just being picky .....

ArneG said 893 days ago:

I really like the attempt - for me the framing is distracting - I find myself wishing I could see the chin and the top of the head as opposed to looking at the rest of the greatness here.

fantastic focal point, i can't look away from his eyes

edmo said 893 days ago:

ive always liked this one...

varner said 893 days ago:

OK. Yes! This one definitely has impact. The cropping emphasizes the features of the face with the mouth being very horizontal... the dead-on glance is a bit uncomfortable...and then, of course, the markings on his forehead give it the final oomph. Nicely done!

I keep coming back to this one. There's some real tension in the way you've framed it... At first I didn't like the chin being cut off, but now I do. It really seems to help point out the detail in the eyes and, of course, the forehead.

Well done.

I really like this one very much, I only think the dot on his forehead should be about one eight of an inch to right : ) Great shot.

noushin said 892 days ago:

So good to see this made it here : )

I think the framing is fantastic. Makes it look as if he is staring at you from the inside of a cell or something rather than a traditional open staged environment.

Lovely tones and rich detail. Very nice.

G4L said 892 days ago:

is that fake ps blur? just curious, bc it looks like it...

Lange said 892 days ago:

For me the striking feature is the texture of the facial skin, especially on the cheeks and bridge of the nose.

washy21 said 892 days ago:

G4L: LOL, Absolutely not PS Blur. This is the Canon 35mm f1.4 at work - it is a stunning lens.

mehdi said 892 days ago:

this is pretty good, I would have like to see more of the chin as well, but oh well. Great job.

G4L said 892 days ago:

shot at f3.2, looks pretty shallow for that, but i'll take ur word for it :)

washy21 said 892 days ago:

G4L: LOL, I've been asked that before. It was taken on a full frame sensor DSLR and I was really up against his face. You made me go back and look at the original RAW file just to make sure I hadn't forgotten. But I hadn't - totally genuine OOF.

That's why Djn wants one so badly ;-)

Stellar. The tone is great and the DOF...fantastic.

dseguin said 892 days ago:

Loved this one the first time I saw and still love it now. Just having the slight colouring really works for me, not to mention the spot on DoF. Fab shot!

Nativeagle said 892 days ago:

YES, love the depth of field and the color/tones is perfect.
