I might have cropped out that little head there, and the left side... and this would be a shot that says a lot.

For those that are curious - I shot this with a pentacon six Tl on Provia 100 that was accidentally cross processed so I converted it to BW.

I think that cropping out the person on the far left, and most of the child's head would make this a much more powerful shot.

This image is really striking to me - I love the feel of it. And you definitely can't deny the extreme contrast on this one. It deserves the front page in my opinion.

After reading the other comments, I personally think that cropping out the other people would detract from this shot. Obviously the woman is conveying something, and to me the slight but not overbearing presence of the other person adds. I do think it may be a little distracting from the main subject, but I think it's better there than not.

Wint3r: Then you and I pretty much stand alone as the overall score for this image was 2.848 Just barely eeking over 3 for relevance.

So when a really high contrast shot - like this - gets a 3 - what do you say?

Ive looked at this a few times, and have finally decided I like it. The quality bothers me a bit - the girls hair seems much better than the womans face in these terms - , but not too much.

I cant believe this got a 3 for relevance.. Its pretty extreme. Also the other people in the scene dont bother me at all. They create a context for the main subject
