this is a wonderful shot, in and of itself.

Somber but beautiful. Maybe a little tight on the boat at the bottom, but it conveys a deserted feeling thats says absence to me. Nice

Wow, this is wonderful..Love the composition.
Nice subtile poetic definition of Absence.

Absence of water. I like the idea. I like the placement of the boat but I wish it weren't so close to the left and bottom of the frame. I'm also curious about the processing.

One nit-pick, I think the gunnel of the boat is too close to the left edge of the shot, which detracts from the overall composition. Nice mood though

I looked at this a long time, which is usually a good thing, probably is here too... The thing that I kept looking at over and over is the scale of the scene. Without the boat, the beach area looks only moderately big, but when you look at the boat the beach suddenly look much bigger...? The depth of the scene overall is great! The other thing that is a bit odd about this is the large amount of detail in the beach and the total lack of detail in the water.

I do like it and did score it high.

Really like the textures of the ground and the 'spottyness' of the blacks and whites on the ground, a slight shame the water is blown out a bit.

This is a wicked photo - although maybe a bit too sharpened - I always laugh when I see the low tide strand boats without their water.
