Love the subtle shadows in the architecture of that building.

This is too overly processed for my eye

CraigMartin said 217 days ago:

Ok, well this one is clearly crooked on purpose! But why, I wonder. Not sure it adds anything. But I really would like to know more about the processing. The vegetation almost has an infra-red look to it. And the building looks like it has had random areas burned out. Do tell us more.

Hmmm, not sure the rakish angle helps this shot. I think a more straight forward composition would have worked beautifully. Love the controlled exposure of the stone building

gazdi said 217 days ago:

I'm curious why you used the tilt in your composition. I also don't know why is the lower right corner of the building cut.

PhotoChron said 217 days ago:

Regarding the question about the tilted angle...When I am trying to achieve an uncomfortable feel in my photos, I try to portray them in an unfamiliar way. A photo that is upright can give a feeling of comfort and familiarity while a photo tilted like this one can be very uncomfortable and have an uneasy feeling to it. Since this is a creepy sort of structure to begin with, I thought I would intensify that effect.

I see what you mean about trying to make the image less mainstream, but I think the processing alone does that for this shot. The building is dark and brooding, opposing the infrared(?) bushes surrounding it. Or maybe I just like the sound of my own voice this afternoon...:)
