While I think this hits the theme right on, the quality of the image doesn't command high marks. I think the framing could have been right, but the intense flash, shadows and washed out effect take away from this interesting subject. I would love to know what's going on here....

The story is the following: people in China (Guilin,Lijiang River,etc), where I captured this - I know other places too - use the cormorant birds to capture fish for them. They strangle in a controlled way of course their necks so they can fish but not swallow, so the ¨fisherman ¨ works very little.
Also the job is done mostly during the night
