when i think of zen, i think nature, i think empty. this is a great image, but not strong enough towards the zen theme.

Well, first, nature is not absolutely empty. Perhaps it's the contrary. Actually, when you think empty, I think riddle and questionning. I'm not sure about what Zen really is. Question of view ;)

I don't think zen has to neccessarily be nature. I find a zen like quality to the subject in this photo. The flat sides to the object and the way the light is being internally reflected is kind of zen like.

Thanks for your feedback Myke. Actually, frankly speaking, i'm not able to define precisely what the Zen idea is but I tought a candle could set an interesting contemplative mood. By the way, i can perfectly understand the stigwick way of thinking about it. Just a different approach from the same subject :)

Very beautiful! Has a sort of 70's vibe. I am not sure if I feel "Zen" or not in this image. But it is a definite winner as a photograph.
